The right texture, every meal, every time
For patients with dysphagia, the texture of a dish matters as much as its nutritional content. A liquid that is too thin, a purée that is poorly blended, or a residual lump can pose a genuine aspiration risk. The IDDSI framework defines eight texture levels — from Level 0 (thin) to Level 7 (regular) — so that every healthcare professional works from the same standard.
CalcMenu embeds these levels directly into the recipe. From the moment a menu is designed, the kitchen team knows which IDDSI level applies to each dish. There is no need to rework a recipe for every texture variant: the software automatically generates the appropriate versions from the reference dish.
