Accurate nutritional values — no laboratory required every time a recipe changes

Nutritional labelling has become a legal or commercial requirement across many markets: calorie counts on menus in the United States and England, Nutri-Grade in Singapore, health claims in Europe, mandatory nutritional information on food-delivery platforms in India. To remain competitive and compliant, professional kitchens and food operations must be able to calculate and publish these values on an ongoing basis.

CalcMenu calculates nutritional values directly from the actual ingredients in your recipes, taking preparation yields and cooking losses into account. There is no need to send every dish to a laboratory each time a recipe is updated.

How CalcMenu calculates nutritional data

A fully customisable ingredient database

CalcMenu includes a reference nutritional database that you extend with your own ingredients, supplier products, and specific yields. Each ingredient record carries:

  • macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats, protein, fibre);
  • micronutrients (vitamins, minerals);
  • allergens and potential traces;
  • supplier-specific data (product code, price, delivery unit).

Calculation at recipe level

When you build a recipe, CalcMenu automatically calculates the nutritional value per serving, applying preparation and cooking yields. If you change an ingredient, a quantity, or a supplier, the result updates instantly.

Regulatory compliance

CalcMenu produces the output formats expected by regulators:

  • calories or kilojoules per serving;
  • fat, saturated fatty acids, carbohydrates, sugars, protein, and salt;
  • reference daily intake values for packaged goods;
  • Nutri-Score and other simplified scoring systems depending on the target market.
